Dr. Diane M. Failla has been providing patient care in the field of Infectious Diseases in Jefferson Parish and the greater New Orleans area since 1995, providing both inpatient and outpatient services.
She studied medicine at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans where she was awarded the Harry Emerson Dascomb Award for Excellence in Infectious Diseases at the time of her graduation in 1990. She completed her internal medicine internship and residency as well as her Infectious Diseases fellowship at the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation.
During that time she published several Infectious Disease articles and participated in IDSA poster presentations at yearly conferences.
In 1995, after finishing her post graduate training, Dr. Failla went into private practice and in 1999 cofounded Infectious Disease Associates where she continues to practice. Her scope of practice includes consultations at East Jefferson General Hospital in addition to outpatient Infectious Disease services.
During her career, Dr. Failla has been involved with Infection Control at East Jefferson General Hospital where she served as Chairman from 2000-2009. She currently serves on the East Jefferson General Hospital Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee, where she has provided her expertise to improve patient care and safety for many years.
She enjoys all aspects of her Infectious Disease practice and offers personalized and caring services to her patients.
