Infectious Disease Associates offers expert and personalized patient care for the broad spectrum of infectious diseases, utilizing advanced diagnostic testing, up-to-date research and constantly evolving medical therapies.

We are the primary group offering inpatient Infectious Disease consultations to the East Jefferson General Hospital, and provide outpatient Infectious Disease services through our office.  We also work with the East Jefferson General Hospital Wound Care Center to provide wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapies.  

Fever of unknown origin

Our providers offer full Infectious Disease evaluations for patients with ongoing fevers without a clear source.

UTI/recurrent urinary tract infections

Patient can be evaluated for recurrent urinary tract infections with treatments that focus on appropriate antibiotic therapy and reduce risk of recurrence.

Intra-abdominal infections

We offer treatments for a wide range of infections found in the abdomen.


Our providers offer tailored HIV medication regimens with expert experience in antiretroviral therapies, resistance mutations, medication intolerances and interactions. Our patients are followed regularly with monitoring of their labs including lymphocyte counts and viral loads, with detailed attention to health issues unique to the HIV population.


We offer treatments for infections of the bones including long-term IV and oral antibiotics. We monitor for resolution of the infection with labs and imaging as needed.

Skin and Soft Tissue Infections

A broad range of skin and soft tissue infections are treated, including infections known as cellulitis which can be caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses or parasites.


Patients with infections in the lungs of all types can be treated by our providers, including bacterial, fungal, viral and atypical infections.

Hepatitis A, B, C treatments

Antiviral therapies tailored to a patient's specific health needs are offered for Hepatitis A, B, and C.

Postsurgical infections

We offer treatment for infections developed as a complication of surgical interventions. These include all types of surgical interventions in any part of the body. This includes treatment of infected prosthetic joints.

Mycobacterial infections

Treatments are offered for active and latent tuberculosis and nontuberculosis/atypical mycobacterial infections. These include oral, IV and inhaled medication regimens. Patients are followed with regular labs, respiratory cultures and imaging as needed.

Multidrug-resistant organism infections

For patients with infections caused by pathogens resistant to numerous antibiotics we can offer customized antibiotic treatment options.

Wound care & Hyperbaric Oxygen treatments

Dr. Ferguson offers wound care, and Dr. Rabito and Dr. Ferguson offer Hyperbaric Oxygen treatments, through East Jefferson General Hospital Wound Care Center.
